Mouth stones: dehydration's weirdest side effect.

Dehydration alert! It can cause painful stones in your saliva glands

Not drinking enough water causes a lack of fluid in the body. Due to which the body becomes dehydrated. Kidney stones can occur due to drinking less water for a long time. But has anyone heard of stones in the mouth lately? Doctors say that there is not much discussion about this. Many people may not even know that if you do not drink enough water, you are at risk of getting a disease called 'saliva gland stone'. In itself, salivary stones are not harmful. However, if you have this kind of problem, you will experience pain in the mouth, difficulty swallowing food and your body condition will worsen.

What are salivary stones?

According to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial,

"There are many glands in the mouth that produce saliva. Calcium deposits build up in the mouths of these glands and turn into stones. The stones block the mouths of the glands, making it difficult for saliva to flow out. If this continues for a long time, the salivary glands become swollen and painful. Infection is not uncommon. It can even lead to dental problems."

What is the way to get rid of it?

As saliva accumulates inside the gland, it puts pressure on the submandibular gland at the base of the jaw. The gland swells. It becomes difficult to chew and eat hard food. However, there is no need to undergo a separate surgery to remove the stone from the gland. Doctors say that this type of stone comes silently and goes away on its own. Apart from drinking less water, this type of problem can also occur if someone has an autoimmune disease. However, in some cases, this stone can take a fatal form. Then, a 'sialendoscopy' is performed to remove the stone accumulated in the salivary gland inside the mouth.

So drink more water, do not start drinking too much water again after reading this because it will have the opposite effect on the body.
